The World’s 50 Best Bars 2020 announced its 51st to 100th list on October 29, with 26 new entries, 29 cities, and 23 countries making the cut. Presented in association with Mancino Vermouth, the 51-100 list includes 16 bars from Asia. Singapore leads the pack with 5 entries, followed by Taipei (3), Bangkok (2), Hong Kong (2), and Tokyo (2), while Shanghai and New Delhi rounded up the list with one entry each.
Nine out of the 16 bars in Asia are new entries, with Singapore’s No Sleep Club debuting strong at 53. The other new entries are Draft Land (Taipei) placing at 93, Sidecar (New Delhi) at 91, The Wise King (Hong Kong) at 83, Bar Mood (Taipei) at 81, Rabbit Hole (Bangkok) at 76, Vesper (Bangkok) at 62, and AHA Saloon (Taipei) at 56.
The organizers shared the extended list to highlight the passion of owners and staff behind all these bars all over the world in the hope that these may serve as sources of optimism amidst the difficulties brought on by the global pandemic.
The World’s 50 Best Bars 2020 will be announced on November 5. The virtual awards ceremony, sponsored by Perrier, will be broadcasted live on their Facebook and YouTube pages starting at 3:00 pm UK time (11:00 pm Philippines).
