Sperry is a brand that even our dads are familiar with. Now, cool kids are sporting the iconic brand thanks to its global millennial-focused campaign, Odysseys Await, inspired by the spirit and energy of the brand’s founder, Paul Sperry.
Last July 13, Sperry threw a Southern California-inspired laidback backyard party to launch its three latest collections: Paul Sperry, which features the reinvention of the classic boat shoe Sperry Top-Sider CVO and showcases classic designs of the early Sperry sneakers; the Sperry X Jaws collection, an homage to Steven Spielberg’s 1975 blockbuster Jaws.
The backyard setting epitomizes the adventurous streak of the brand’s spirit with stations for each collection, inflatable sharks on the pool with floating Sperry X Jaws shoes, and the picnic area where the guests listened to I Belong to The Zoo and Rusty Machines and danced later in the night to the music of DJ MVRXX (Marx Monterola). To complete the backyard party mood, barbecue stations were set up with food from The Burgery, El Heneral, Berliner Grill and drinks from Brew Kettle beer and Vita Coco plus Sperry’s homemade punch.
Spotted at the event were Iñigo Pascual, Louise delos Reyes, Patrick Sugui, Sam Concepcion, Loisa Andalio, Jolo Estrada, Almira Teng, Quark Heneres, Brent Javier, Janna Tee, Gil Cuerva, Laureen Uy, Camille Co, Will Dasovich, and Janina Vela.
