“Italians are known for their espressos and “Negronis”. In the Philippines, lambanog (Coconut Toddy) is considered one of the very popular local spirits with different places of origin like Batangas, Quezon, Laguna, Bicol, and many others. “As a tribute to this very old spirit, I made a new twist and a Filipino version of the classic Negroni. Thus, the name ‘NOG-roni’,” says Larry.
Ingredients:
- 45 ml San Juan Lambanog
- 15 ml Campari
- 15 ml Martini Bianco
- 20 ml Monin Elderflower syrup
- 5 ml rich simple syrup
Directions:
- Pour all ingredients in a shaker.
- Using two shaker tins, roll/throw ingredients from one shaker to the other until properly chilled and diluted.
- Pour over fresh ice in the glass.
- Garnish with orange peel.
