PeopleAsia staged its 11th Women of Style and Substance Awards at Crimson Hotel’s Grand Ballroom. The awards honor women who embody excellence in their chosen fields.
The inclusion of Bataan First District Rep. Geraldine Roman—the first transgender woman elected to Philippine congress—broke new ground for the magazine. On the cover were Miss Universe Philippines Maxine Medina; Bb. Pilipinas International 2016 Kylie Verzosa, Rustan’s and Sta. Elena Properties’ Katrina Tantoco-Lobregat; Happy Skin co-founder Rissa Mananquil-Trillo; and DMark Beauty and DermaAsia beauty entrepreneur Nikki Tang. Licensing Executive Society International President Patricia Bunye-Rojas; businesswoman and philanthropist Sheree Chua; Wella Philippines’ Kaye Zorilla-Gamboa; fashion designer Maureen Disini-Teichert; jewelry designer Ann Ong; Philippine STAR columnist Christina Dayrit; and Titania Wines owner Tita Trillo completed the list. A fashion show for Escada’s Fall Winter 2016 Collection preceded the awards, and the evening ended with singer Richard Poon entertaining the crowd with his signature songs.
