“My go-to hangout place has always been a place where my friends and I can just be ourselves, laugh as loud as we want and not worry about anything or anyone. So every Friday, you’ll catch me in Tipple and Slaw which is a quaint speakeasy bar located in BGC. My favorites among their wide array of selection would have to be the Tipple burger and the truffle fried chicken which never fail to make me happy. Since the restaurant doubles up as a bar at night, they also serve beers and hard drinks but at the top of my list is their Jägerbomb. I would definitely recommend Tipple and Slaw for college students and yuppies looking for a chill-out bar just to shy away from that usual loud club-ish places”.

“When I’m in the south, I always try to drop by Staple and Perk Cafe and Bakery at EcoPlaza, Pasong Tamo Ext. Their Iced coffee + apple pie bar is my favorite de-stresser combo! The ambiance is minimalist and their playlist always hits the spot in the indie-pop fan in me. Their hot coffees and specialty pastries are winners too! In the North, I enjoy getting a breather at Hillside Cafe and Juice Bar with all their power juices and deliciously healthy meals! The Chocolate Smoothie with Almond Milk and Cacao nibs is my favorite together with the Pesto-crusted Chicken Parmigiana”.

“There are nights when you just want to chill with friends and talk about work, relationships, and life in general, so my friends and I frequent Barcino Wine and Resto Bar, either the one in Greenbelt or Rockwell. I just love the interior coupled with Spanish music and beautiful crowd. It just makes me feel at home. I love their tapas gourmet which consists of chorizo bilbao, jamon serrano, manchego queso, ensadilla russa, and chorizo Pamplona. Of course, I go for red wine all the time. Their Marquez de Vargas Madera 2003 is a must try”.
