Last Word

< 1 minute

This gin-based prohibition-era cocktail is a century old but has a surprisingly modern taste. It was first made in 1916 at Detroit Athletic Club in the U.S. when bathtub gin was all the rage. Made with equal parts gin, Maraschino liqueur, and Green Chartreuse mixed with lime juice, Last Word is a sharp cocktail made for slow sipping. The pale green drink is both sweet and sour with notes of anise, evergreen, citrus, and herbs.
