If you need a caffeine fix to get you through the hustle and bustle of Christmas, wake up and warm up with Caravan Black’s new line of coffee drinks crafted for the Yuletide season. Even non-coffee fans would definitely appreciate the aromatic richness of freshly brewed Prancer, Dasher, and Blitzen each made with homemade syrups infused with specialty Caravan Black coffee.
For citrus and spice, try Prancer, made of espresso, milk, house-made orange syrup, cardamom, and cinnamon and served in a Gibraltar glass. Dasher is a comforting fruity drink made with espresso, milk, chocolate, and house-made raspberry syrup. Blitzen is made with espresso, milk, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg and toasted graham. These Christmas offerings are best served with the Snickerdoodle Cookie, a house-made buttery cinnamon cookie.
For those who need coffee with a kick, Caravan Black also serves up a variety of spiked coffee drinks. For happy hour, best to try the cocktails on the menu:
Frontman, nutty and chocolatey Old Fashioned made with Maker’s Mark bourbon, simple syrup, chocolate cigar bitters, Angostura bitters, and orange peel.

Refreshing and fruity Pimm’s, made with Pimm’s No. 1, soda, mint leaves, fresh strawberry, lemon, and orange.
The aromatic Lady Rosemary made with Bombay Sapphire gin, grapefruit Juice, fresh lemon juice, Monin Rose Syrup, topped with foam made with Ketel One vodka, Monin Rose Syrup, fresh lemon juice, and egg white.
To power you through that last stretch of the year before the holidays, we recommend the lager-like Nitro coffee made with 12-hour cold-brewed coffee and infused with pressurized nitrogen for another 12 hours.
The coffee comes out of a tap and even has a foam head when it’s served in what looks like a tall beer glass. The nitrogen removes much of the acidity in the drink and leaves a smooth and creamy mouthfeel, and the coffee even has stout beer-like notes of chocolate and caramel. It’s black coffee for beer lovers, or for people who believe they need milk in their coffee. As delicious as this drink is, we were advised not to drink it too quickly, as the caffeine (equivalent to six shots of coffee) may hit very hard. We took one and a half hours to slowly sip the tall glass of nitro coffee and paired it with one of Caravan Black’s delicate Kaya croissants. The result? No palpitations, just a feeling of refreshed alertness. Given Caravan Black’s demonstrated flair for experimentation and constant menu additions, we’re excited to see what they’ll do next with the Nitro coffee.
