A classic Old Fashioned with a meaty twist. This sweet and savory cocktail might put off vegetarians, but for those who partake of meat, the use of tapa fat wash with Jack Daniel’s adds a different dimension to the usual beverage. It’s what you expect a good Old Fashioned to be, with the added layers of flavor. Definitely worth a shot.
Ingredients:
- 60 ml tapa-infused Jack Daniel’s
- 2-3 dashes angostura bitters
- 15 ml simple syrup
How to make tapa-infused Jack Daniel’s:
- Pan fry tapa.
- Turn off heat and let sit until cool.
- Strain into container using cheesecloth and put in fridge.
- Remove lard on top of bourbon. Strain until satisfied with clarity of bourbon.
- 500 ml Jack Daniel’s
- 200 g cooked tapa (pan-fried) Pan fry tapa.
How to make the cocktail:
- Add ingredients in a mixing glass.
- Add ice and stir until chilled through.
- Strain in a rock glass, add ice.
- Garnish with orange peel and dried meat.
