It’s the year of the Fire Rooster, and this drink certainly rings it in with a bang. This invigorating cocktail has a dry heat that matches well with the warmth of the agave from tequila. This citrusy drink is well-balanced and layered, with a spiciness that creeps in more than it kicks. If this is a harbinger of what the New Year will be like, things are looking great for us.
Ingredients:
- 2 or 3 generous squeezes of sriracha
- 60 ml tequila (Reposado)
- 30 ml lime juice
- 30 ml orange juice
- 30 ml pineapple juice
- 15 ml agave syrup
Directions:
- Chill coupette with ice.
- Put tequila, lime, orange juice, pineapple juice, and agave syrup in a shaker.
- Add ice and shake.
- Strain into a coupette. Add the sriracha and stir.
- Depending on your prefered taste, you may add in more sriracha. You may also add sriracha to the mixture before shaking.
