Zomato and PLDT SME Nation continued their mission to help uplift and improve micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with the launch of the Zomato Academy on Feb. 27 in Parañaque.
The Zomato Academy is a series of monthly pop-up academies featuring workshops conducted by industry experts to help restaurant owners build their businesses. The first Zomato Academy taught business owners how to brand their restaurants and spotlighted trends and innovations in the beverage industry.
Rocketship Creative Design Lab’s Rob Soliman and Aldrin Jacinto led the Branding 101 workshop, which stressed the importance of branding guidelines for business owners in the food industry. After the session, the speakers conducted a group activity where participants grouped together to create a mock branding and marketing strategy for their restaurants.
DrinkManila.com hosted the topic on beverage industry trends and innovation and the role of beverage in a restaurant’s business module. DrinkManila founder and editor-in-chief Tatum Ancheta tackled the current behavior of consumers shaping the beverage industry, while DrinkManila founder and mixology expert Icy Mariñas educated MSMEs about the importance of innovation in beverage programs. After the program, Mariñas conducted a mixology session highlighting local products and ingredients. Participating beverage brands were Nutri Asia and Del Monte.
Zomato Academy takes place once a month and targets restaurant owners in specific food zones. For updates and more information visit zomato.com or follow @zomatoph on Instagram and Zomato on Facebook.
