Marketplace by Rustan’s presented a taste of the best wines from the world’s finest vineyards at the three-day The World of Wine wine fair from September 29 to October 1 at the Shangri-La Plaza Grand Atrium. The event featured 100 types of wine selections from premium wine-growing regions around the globe.
Winemakers from Australia, France, Spain, and Argentina brought their best bottles to the fair and got to talk to consumers firsthand about the story of each bottle from their vineyards. Laurent Barrier from Château Pey Mallet in France spoke about Understanding Bordeaux Wine Region, Christopher Buckland-Smith from Wines Overland talked about Argentina and Chile: A Tale of Conquistadores, Oceans, and Mountains. Other speakers were Anthony Murphy from the Trentham who tackled Varietals of Eastern Australian Wines, Laurent Mery from Château Lamothe-Bergero in France featured The Rise of Wine Tourism, Pablo Aranda Hynes from Grupo Penaflor in Argentina spoke about the Terroirs of Mendoza, Argentina. The last day of the fair featured Elena Hernandez from the Tempore winery in Spain talked about Spanish Diversity in Culture, Davidson from the Tamburlaine winery in Australia taught the audience about Organic Wines and How to Make Them.
2010 Château Leoville-Las Cases Saint Julien 2 Cru Classe, the 1994 Château Leoville-Las Cases Saint Julien 2 Cru Classe, the 2003 Château Nenin Pomerol, the 2004 Clos du Marquis Saint Julien, and the 2008 Clos du Marquis Saint Julien vintage wines with only a few bottles left in the market were sold exclusively during the event.
