In celebration of Women’s Month this March, DrinkManila.com and Discovery Primea is mounting the Women and Tipple Series, a set of tasting events that will foster spirited conversations led by women about what women like to drink. These events will give women the opportunity to gather with bartenders, brand ambassadors, and other drink enthusiasts to try new spirits and cocktails and have a shared unique drinking and learning experience.
The series kicked off on March 7, Wednesday at Discovery Primea’s new terrace bar, Edge located on the 16th floor of the hotel. For the first leg of Women and Tipple Series, the guests got acquainted with Don Papa Rum, a premium aged small-batch rum from the Isle of Negros, Philippines, with the help of Don Papa Brand Manager Erica Larkins and Senior Regional Brand Manager Cristhel Molina. For the second part of the series, spirited conversations were led by women of DrinkManila.com together with Marie France and Facial Care Centre who continue to empower women in achieving their body and health goals. Celebrity photographer Sara Black talked about how she maintains her figure inspire of her hectic schedule and Marie France’s Media and PR Group Head Nj Torres-Jacobson talked the services that the company can offer to women.
March 14 was Ladies’ Gin Night at Gilarmi Lounge at the G/F of Discovery Primea, and guests got acquainted with and got treated to The Botanist Gin, the first Islay Dry Gin made with 22 hand-foraged local botanicals with nine berries, barks, seeds, and peels. The Botanist’s Brand Manager Diane Reyes, gave an engaging talk about the classic spirit and brand ambassador Alyona Vinogradova held a gin masterclass and entertained the guests with servings of gin and tonic and gimlet with a twist. Gin and tonic buffets are gaining popularity, and Gilarmi Lounge serves one of the best G&T buffet selection in the city.
To accompany the gin and tonic serves, Gilarmi Lounge served Smoked Salmon and Caviar on Crostini; Catalana Flat Bread with Eggplant Caviar; Goat Cheese and Tomatoes, Baby Peppers Stuffed with Chorizo-Feta Mousse; Minced Lamb Kebab; BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich; and Crispy Duck Wantons.

The Women and Tipple series were designed to be a safe place for women to feel relaxed and thrive in an environment that focuses on and is supportive of their exploration of drinks and spirits.
