It’s a great time to gin! Get your friends together and take advantage of the Bar Rouge’s Gin Fest for the whole month of September. Every Monday to Saturday from 5 pm to 9 pm, head over to New World Makati for a little (or a lot) of good old classic G&T!
Bar Rouge’s Gin Fest offers three gin buffet packages–at Php488 start off with Belgravia, Beefeater, Bombay Sapphire, JJ. Whitley Elderflower, Tanqueray, and Bulldog; for Php788 choose from Whitley Neil, Martin Miller, Citadelle, Cruxland, Portobello 71, Tanqueray 10, Del Professore Monsieur and Madame, Four Pillars, and Hendricks; and for only Php988 choose from craft bottles Nordes, Botanist, London No. 1, Four Pillars Navy, Brockmans, Liverpool, and Gin Sul. Choose from over 20 premium gin brands and a wide variety of mixers and garnishes to make that perfect glass of G&T.
You may also try Bar Rouge’s award-winning drink, the Smokey Aru-Gin, by World Gin Day champion Dexter Poquita, the drink is made with arugula, grapefruit, fresh lemon juice, tonic water, and mango caliber syrup (aratiles).
Pair your drinks with tapas, pizza’s, and various mouth watering dishes which you can order from any of New World Hotel’s F&B.
A competitive edge that Bar Rouge has over the growing number of Gin and Tonic buffets is the presence of Groove Nation’s Toti Dalmacion – music industry legend, mastermind of the Consortium parties and founder of Terno Recordings (Google his name, kids, educate yourselves). Every Wednesday night, from 6 pm to12 mn, DJs Toti Dalmacion, Mario Serrano, Cyril Yarisantos, Dino Amparo, and Michael Rattinger spin vinyl records to the delight of audiophiles and gin fanatics alike.
Their weekly stint at Bar Rouge is a venue for them to show off new releases and play around with their vast collection of records (Toti alone has over 20,000 records). “It’s definitely a lot of music that you don’t get to hear,” Toti says. “Some may be familiar, but not your usual, your typical mix. Most of the time, you’re going to hear stuff that you’re not going to hear anywhere else.” What’s great is that apart from enjoying G&Ts with awesome music, is that if you hear a song that you like, you can purchase the record from Toti’s store, This is Pop, located at Unit B, Ground Floor, Legaspi Towers 100, 148 Legaspi Street, Legaspi Village, Makati.
