Johnnie Weekend welcomed the holiday season with an explosive start as the Johnnie Walker House officially opens to the public in Greenbelt 3, Makati. The launch also celebrated Johnnie Walker’s collaboration with Perea Street, bringing in the good kind of noise and fun to the party.
Perea Street is a rising trio (Edsel Uy, Judd Figuerres, and Julo de Guzman) on IGTV who made a mark in the online streetwear scene with their unboxing videos of streetwear brands. They also cover trending topics from skin care to pop culture in a comical way that garnered a huge following. Undoubtedly, their entertaining and relatable content is proving to be just what the modern market needed.
“At the core of the Johnnie Walker brand is the drive to continuously push the envelope in creating ways for our consumers to enjoy whiskey. Our Johnnie Weekend collab events provide an avenue for us to push the envelope by collaborating with individuals who bring their own style and craft to the table,” explains Cesar Gangoso, Marketing Director of Johnnie Walker. He continues, “Out latest Johnnie Weekend collaboration with Perea Street is inspired by pop 90s culture and streetwear style, brought to us by the Perea Street boys.”
The Johnnie Walker House is a highball bar at the central walkway of Greenbelt 3, right in front of well-known cafes such as Café Breton, Starbucks, and Seattle’s Best Coffee, where people can enjoy the world’s #1 whiskey in a laid-back alfresco setting for the holidays– running from November 21 to December 22, 2018.
Johnnie Walker’s partnership with Perea Street gave an exciting twist to Johnnie Walker House with a creation of two highball recipes inspired by the trio’s flamboyant persona—the Johnnie Flamingo and Johnnie Vanilla.
The Johnnie Flamingo is a blast from the past, taking in the quirky embodiment of the 90s, a reflection of Perea Street’s fashion sense. It has the base of Johnnie Walker Black Label mixed with pink lemonade and Sprite topped with childhood-favorite Pop Rocks Candy. The Johnnie Vanilla is similar to a root beer float with a kick. This classic root beer and vanilla ice cream combination spiked with a splash of Johnnie Walker Black. This creamy drink will still stay true to the original taste of the whisky and will definitely be a hit among the young market.
