Pasko Na Sinta ko is a romantic Christmas song popularized by the Filipino singer Gary Valenciano and is the inspiration for this drink. Contrast to the sad theme of the song, this drink will brighten up your gloomy holiday. It has comforting aromas of pandan and nutmeg, the citrus that will wake up your palate and line your throat with the vanilla finish from the rum and whisky blend.
“The song is all about yearning for his loved one, and I created this cocktail recipe as a reminder of what Christmas should be about. Christmas is a celebration of all kinds of love, love of family, love for friends, oneself love and especially love for our savior. We should not forget the sole reason for the occasion, and it is to be thankful for His salvation. So, when we are down, sad, and missing someone we lost, remind yourselves to be grateful because Christmas is all about Christ and love.
I named the cocktail Sabsaban (trough) because this is where the celebration of Christmas started when Jesus Christ was born in a trough.”—Abby
