For those days when you’re craving for your childhood treats, we’ve created an Ovaltine Old Fashioned. The drink brings the chocolatey sweetness of Ovaltine together with the smokiness of Johnnie Walker Double Black. Ovaltine’s cereal undertones and the addition of orange bitters and orange peel round out the flavors of this decidedly delectable cocktail.
Ingredients
60 ml Johnnie Walker Double Black 45 ml Ovaltine Syrup 2 dashes chocolate bitters 1 dash orange bitters orange peel
5 pcs Ovaltine Cookies, crushed 1/2 cup sugar 1 cup water In a saucepan, melt sugar in water over medium heat. Add crushed Ovaltine cookies and stir. Simmer and stir until cookies melt. Set aside to cool.
Directions
In a mixing glass, pour Johnnie Walker Double Black, Ovaltine Syrup, and bitters. Add ice and stir. Strain the drink into a rock glass with ice. Express the oils of an orange peel and use it as a garnish. Serve with Ovaltine Cookies.
