Created in celebration of World Cucumber Day on June 14, The Cucumber Horticulturist is an interactive phone game that allows players to earn cucumber currency by growing their own digital cucumber. Simply plant the digital seeds, and grow the little seedling to a full-sized cucumber and collect your cucumber currency, which is an e-ticket coupon for 15% off Hendrick’s Gin at boozeshop.ph. Perfect for the plant-obsessed people out there or those who don’t have a green thumb and want to plant something they won’t accidentally kill.
Cucumber Day was invented by English horticulturists in 2011, paving the way for Hendrick’s Gin’s yearly celebration, as the cucumber plays a vital role in imparting the spirit its delectably distinct flavor. Apart from the cucumber, infusions of rose are used in Hendrick’s distillation process, which gives the gin lightness and complexity. This presents opportunities for experimentation in cocktail flavors and garnishes.

To win the game, simply grow the cucumber plant by collecting falling water droplets on the screen and steer away from the roses. Once you’ve gathered enough water in the pot and grown a vine with fruits, you’ll get your cucumber currency over email. It’s an e-coupon for 15% off of Hendrick’s Gin, capped at a limited number of coupons. The discount can be redeemed at boozeshop.ph until 31 July. Note that you can only win a coupon once, although you’re encouraged to play to your heart’s content!
