The call for entries for the Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition garnered a healthy response from local bartenders seeking to join the prestigious ranks of previous Patrón Perfectionists winners.
The Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition supports and cultivates bartenders who elevate tequila-based cocktails and gives participants the opportunity to learn from the best in the industry.
In this year’s virtual format, competitors get to showcase their talents on the global stage from the safety of their homes. Bartenders are tasked to create the perfect Patrón tequila cocktail using up to eight ingredients from a simplified list that are readily available so that the recipe can be replicated by Patrón enthusiasts anywhere for that perfect drink experience.
“This is an incredibly exciting year for the PATRÓN Perfectionists competition and I’m glad that we’ve been able to adapt with this new format,” comments Matt Sykes, senior director for global marketing and founder of the Patrón Perfectionists Cocktail Competition. “Consumers have a great appreciation for cocktail making and this offers them a new way to get involved and show their appreciation and support for great cocktails. To give consumers a chance to vote for their local Top 30 is another first for us and we can’t wait to see which cocktails and bartenders have resonated at home.”
As shared by Sykes, the public will get a chance to vote on their favorite out of a shortlist of 30 cocktails published online. Consumers will get to support skilled bartenders from around the country and discover up-and-coming talents and innovative cocktail creations.
The three bartenders with the most consumer votes will make up three spots in the Top 10 to go through to the virtual finals in the hopes of representing the Philippines at the global Patrón Perfectionists final at The Hacienda, Jalisco, Mexico.

The next stage of the competition will have the Top 10 local bartenders take part in a virtual national final to be judged by a panel of four expert judges. The winner of each national final will be invited to fly to Mexico in January 2022 for a chance to meet their fellow Perfectionists and compete in the global final at Hacienda Patrón.
