In celebration of World Cucumber Day, Hendrick’s Gin will once again be offering its cucumber currency, where thirsty imbibers can exchange a cucumber for a delectable Hendrick’s and Tonic. It’s only natural to highlight the green fruit, as cucumber (alongside rose and a blend of 11 botanicals) is part of what makes the Scottish gin so special and unusual.
World Cucumber Day, celebrated annually on June 14, is the day the makers of the unusual gin highlight the remarkable fruit and inspire people to cultivate and embrace their unusual side. In celebration of this peculiar day, Hendrick’s Gin has partnered with 38 bars across the city. During a dedicated ‘Cucumber Hour’ from 5:00 to 11:00 pm, you can simply present a cucumber at any of the bars and exchange it for a refreshing Hendrick’s & Tonic.
Trade a cucumber for a Hendrick’s & Tonic at any of the following participating bars: Bar 55, Lampara, Bar Flora, After Hours, Salt and Ice (Molito and BGC), Oto, Curator, Run Rabbit Run, Japonesa, West 32, Agimat, Distillery, Hola Bombón, Southbank (Estancia and Alabang), Brick and Mortar, Burnt Bean, Craft BGC, Fauna, St. Louis, LIT, LAB, Katsu, Scarlet, Draft (Molito, BGC, Rockwell), Maillard, Silong, Spritz, Keepers Bar, Hola Eat Drink & Play, RM16, Kona PH, Vault, Bar by East, and Seven.
Charmaine Thio, Hendricks’ Southeast Asia Ambassador, comments, “After a well-received trial in 2019, where we converted the beloved cucumber into currency, we’re inviting curious-minded individuals once again to exchange this unconventional green fruit for the most peculiar libation, a Hendrick’s & Tonic.”
‘Cucumber Hour’ will run from 5:00 to 11:00 pm on Wednesday, 14 June.
