After opening its second location in Cebu, Philippines, earlier this year, Goa Nights has recently relocated its beloved Macau venue from Rua Correia da Silva in Taipa Village to the dining and entertainment destination of Broadway Macau.
Their first three-story restobar in Taipa Village has been a favorite among patrons for seven years and was ranked #100 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars extended 51-100 list in 2021. The new venue offers larger spaces and an enhanced experience, highlighting their signature Indian tapas and cocktails inspired by Goa’s rich history as a former Portuguese colony. Now spanning 2,000 square feet, the new Goa Nights can accommodate larger groups, featuring long tables that seat eight to 15 guests.
Right in the center of the space is their bar, where you won’t find typical bar seats. Instead, guests are invited to engage with the bartenders or even get hands-on by crafting their own drinks for a more immersive experience. The interior has evolved from its old rustic charm to a sleek, minimalist design, featuring outdoor seating and a cozy private dining room for those intimate gatherings.
Gagan Sethi and his wife, Gwen Trott, as well as his sister, Shilpa Sethi, remain the owners of the venue, and patrons of the old location may still recall many of the team members behind the bar and on the floor, including its Filipino staff, bartender Wilson Ricablanca, F&B supervisor Dyan May Vagilidad, and server Gretchen Corona. A new addition to the team is group beverage head Ram Yadav, formerly from the award-winning bar Sidecar in Delhi.
The menu features a selection of hearty Indian dishes, starting with their trio dip platter (MOP$128), which includes hummus, baba ganoush (eggplant), and tzatziki (yogurt cucumber) paired with Afghani naan. Be sure to try the falafel served with hummus (MOP$78), paneer butter masala (MOP$148), and the classic chicken tikka masala (MOP$148). For a perfect shareable dish, opt for the tandoori seabass (MOP$198)—a whole fish marinated in Indian spices and yogurt, then roasted in a clay oven for a flavorful finish.
When it comes to cocktails, you’ll be spoiled for choice! The menu features various sections, with drinks inspired by Vasco da Gama’s journey from Portugal to India and cocktails highlighting iconic locations in Goa and Macau. They also feature a signature cocktail selection featuring crowd-pleasers like the Casual-tea (MOP$118), a creamy butterfly pea tea-infused tequila cocktail accented with homemade peppermint syrup, Dom Benedictine, and cardamom bitters. One of our favorites is their new Bergamot Sour (MOP$118), a refreshing gimlet bursting with aromatic citrus flavor and a zesty kick. For those craving something boozy, don’t miss their Old Pal-inspired cocktail called Old Friend, made with rye whisky, Campari, dry vermouth, and a dash or orange blossom water infused with beeswax.
