This season, they have released the latest installment of their seasonal menu, featuring the world’s finest aged spirits. Crafted by head bartender Nishant Vargas, the new menu highlights Ferrand Cognac, considered the Premier Cru de Cognac— a revered spirit with a distinctive style that utilizes a century-old tradition of selecting the best grapes and distilling them on the lees. Their vines are planted in the Angeac terroir, located in the heart of Grande Champagne.

The new offerings invite customers to explore the rich legacy of the Cognac house, featuring inventive twists on classic cocktails that highlight the unique notes of the Cognac, such as nutmeg, white flowers, baked pear, and honey. Drawing from ten generations of the Ferrand family, which dates back to its firstborn in 1630, the menu embodies the legacy preserved by the current head of the distillery, Alexandre Gabriel. It specifically takes inspiration from the recipes of Elie Ferrand VIII, the most influential of the eight sons, who passed away in 1927. Emphasizing the journey over the destination, Artifact’s cocktails strive to encapsulate this philosophy in every glass.

Cocktails (HK$170 per drink) include the refreshing floral and toasty highball, Peach + Oolong, which features notes of peach and thyme, making it an easy-drinking choice to start with. Another bubbly option is a twist to the classic Champagne cocktail Maharajas Burra-peg: Jasmine + Guava, an aromatic drink with floral notes of jasmine and ripe pink guava. One of our favorites is the dessert cocktail, Berry + Cheesecake, a savory drink that even those without a sweet tooth will enjoy. The drink is a twist on bramble with sour and sweet blends of berries infused with clove and pandan, topped with a cream cheese foam. For something boozy, go for the Coffee + Cigarettes, a blend of Cognac, bitter orange, sweet vermouth, tobacco leaf, cold brew, and peat—it is sure to wake you up and hit you with its punch.

In addition to the four seasonal drinks, Artifact has also added new items to their signature list, including a clarified New York sour called The PB+J and a highball called The Ronin, which features notes of honeydew melon, hojicha, and sansho.
Artifact is located on the LG/F of Jardine House, Shop 5 & 7, 1 Connaught Place, Central, Hong Kong. The bar is open from Tuesdays to Thursdays from 5pm to 12am, and on Fridays and Saturdays from 5pm to 1am. Follow them on Instagram at @artifacthk.
