The Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2025 rankings have been announced. The live ceremony took place on March 25 at the Grand Hyatt Seoul with the full list revealed around 6pm, KST.
The event gathered chefs, writers, and industry insiders for one of the biggest nights in the dining scene in Asia.
At the top of the list is Gaggan in Bangkok, crowned The Best Restaurant in Asia 2025, Gaggan also took home the Best Restaurant in Thailand 2025.
This year, Bangkok and Tokyo dominate the rankings with nine entries each, while Chef Tam’s Seasons in Macau leaps 40 spots to claim the Highest Climber Award 2025, and Seoul’s Eatanic Garden secures the Highest New Entry Award. Seven establishments from Hong Kong make their mark, with The Chairman leading the way at No. 2 and Wing closely behind at No. 3.
Along with the main rankings, special awards were handed out: Hudaree ‘Tam’ Debhakam of Baan Tepa in Bangkok was named Asia’s Best Female Chef 2025. She’s known for using rare local ingredients and highlighting Thai food heritage in fresh, thoughtful ways.
Vicky Cheng of Wing in Hong Kong won the Chefs’ Choice Award 2025, voted by fellow chefs. His cooking blends Chinese and French techniques, with dishes that balance precision and tradition.
The late Margarita Forés (2016 Asia’s Best Female Chef) was posthumously awarded the Woodford Reserve Icon Award. Known for bringing Italian flavors to the Philippines while championing local produce, her influence continues to shape kitchens across the region.
