Hong Kong’s Middle Eastern restaurant Bedu has introduced a new seasonal tasting menu that focuses on Middle Eastern spices and dishes made for sharing. Available every night until April 30, the menu crafted by head chef Ali Ahmadpour, opens with a spice box placed at each table, featuring six essential spices used across the menu: sumac, baharat, za’atar, dukkah, saffron and smoked paprika.
At HKD520 per person, the dishes include truffle hummus, garlic za’atar labneh, pickles, and warm pita. There is also honey-baked feta served hot with lavender and thyme. Other dishes include roasted pumpkin with basil hummus and pistachio dukkah, and pan-fried scallops with coriander chermoula, and harissa.
The meal ends with Darak, a dessert inspired by the coastal landscapes of South Iran. It combines vanilla cream, Pakistani mango, lotus crumble, orange blossom and spirulina.
Pair your meal with drinks to elevate the experience with Bedu’s selection of cocktails and mocktails inspired by Middle Eastern folk tales. Options include the Pink Sumac with spiced rum and peppercorn, and Alexandria with hibiscus, strawberry vodka and za’atar. The wine list features bottles from Lebanon, France and Italy, available by the glass or bottle.
