During Art Month in Hong Kong, coinciding with Art Central and Art Basel, The Glen Grant Single Malt Scotch Whisky launched its rare 65-year-old Scotch from 1958 as part of its Splendours Collection, accompanied by an art show at the Upper House Hong Kong.

The brand has brought in London-based art collective Random International to celebrate the occasion with an innovative pixelography painting performance, where the duo creates 65 bespoke artworks symbolizing the 65-year-old decanter and the passage of the four seasons, debuting their art and process in the Asian art scene.

During the event, the designers of the handcrafted decanters for the 65-Year-Old Scotch, John Galvin and Glasstorm’s Brodie Nairn, as well as newly appointed master distiller Greig Stables, were present for the unveiling.

“Hong Kong is a key market for us, and we’ve partnered with Random International specifically for Arts Week to launch this new expression in Asia. The city is a perfect market for us to launch it in. It’s where we would like to be in the future,” says Greig Stables. “The liquid is phenomenal; it has been resting in a single cask for 65 years. We’ve nurtured it like a baby sleeping in the warehouse, and now it’s time to wake it up,” he adds. “It carries the signature Glen Grant DNA: floral and fruity. It’s a phenomenal dram, and it was time to get it in the glass and share it with the world,” he shares.

Distilled in 1958 and matured for over six decades, each of the 151 decanters has been handcrafted as a Möbius strip seed pod, paying homage to the distillery’s Garden of Splendours, where the rare flower still blooms today.

Along with the sneak preview of the 65-year-old bottle, The Glen Grant also showcased the 21 and 25-year-old releases, as well as the 30-year-old, which is set to be released soon in the Hong Kong market.
The Seasons exhibit is available for viewing at The Upper House until March 28. Click this link to register your slot. Two bottles of The Glen Grant 65-Year-Old Scotch are available for the Hong Kong market, retailing at around HKD400,000 per bottle.
