Bar Takeover by Treyna Zhang

Treyna Zhang, general manager and head bartender of Coda Bar in Singapore, is heading to Firefly Bar, located in Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel, for a one-night guest shift. A seasoned beverage expert with a strong background in Asian spirits, Treyna also serves as Brand Ambassador for The Orientalist Spirits.

Dré Masso at Vesper

Where: Vesper
Dré Masso, co-founder and global ambassador of Altos Tequila, is heading to Bangkok for a special appearance at award-winning bar Vesper (ranked No. 13 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024). A familiar face in the agave world, Dré brings tequila and good times for one night so be sure to mark this in your calendar!

Avoca Guest Shifts

Avoca’s bar gets stacked this Asia’s 50 Best Bars weekend with back-to-back guest shifts from some of the region’s top bars. First up on July 11, Amanda Wan of Kuala Lumpur’s Three X Co (ranked No. 56 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024), On July 12, Winnie Wei of Shanghai’s Sober Company (No. 81) and on July 13, Singapore’s Analogue Initiative closes the series with Nicholas Leong and Yong Wei. Expect strong drinks, big energy, and a different vibe each night.

8 Hands Industry Cocktails at Avoca
When: July 12, Saturday

Where: Avoca, Hong Kong
As part of Avoca’s Asia’s 50 Best Bars weekend lineup, their first-ever 8 Hands Industry Cocktails session brings together serious bar talent for an afternoon of collaborative drinks. Behind the bar: Cristóbal Cofré Torres (Torres Brandy), Elliot Faber (Solisca Tequila), Tatsuya Mawatari (iichiko Shochu), and Avoca’s own Rolf Flaminiano. Expect a roster of cocktails to choose from, plus snacks, and a chance to hang with some of the best in the industry. Priced at HKD380 per person, reservations recommended.

Boilermaker at Bourke’s

One of Goa’s hottest dive bars, Boilermaker, is popping at Central’s neighbourhood watering hole, Bourke’s, for a two-hour shift with founder Pankaj Balachandran and head bartender Macleigh Rev Fernandes. Guests can expect a special cocktail menu that includes Goa’s signature cocktails, one of which is the Siolim Salsa (with Altos tequila, jalapeño and gochujang) Come early, because there’ll be no reservations!

Unofficial Opening Party for Asia’s 50 Best Bars at The Aubrey

Four global names join forces for one night only at The Aubrey. Catch Kate Gerwin from Happy Accidents (Albuquerque), Michael Chiem from PS40 (Sydney), Giulia Cuccurullo from Artesian (London), and Riccardo Lugano from Manhattan (Singapore) as they shake things up at The Aubrey to kick off Asia’s 50 Best Bars week. Cocktails are priced at HKD170 with drinks available on a first-come basis.

As part of Asia’s 50 Best Bars Week, Jon Lee and Brandon Tan, proprietors of award-winning Kuala Lumpur bar, Penrose, ranked No. 8 on Asia’s 50 Best 2024, to bring Lavantha, their newest bar, to Hong Kong for one night only. Expect bold, layered cocktails and serious flavor at this special takeover inside the city’s favorite rum spot.

The Poet x Book ing Bar

Alin Chen, head bartender, and Ashin Yang, bar director of Book ‘ing Bar in Taipei, are heading to Hong Kong for a one-night shift at The Poet on July 13. As part of Two Moons International Week, the duo brings their expertise to the speakeasy-style bar in Central. Catch them behind the bar from 8pm to 10pm.

The Best Bars in China at Cardinal Point

Hong Kong’s rooftop bar, Cardinal Point, is rounding up some of Shanghai’s biggest names. CMYK (ranked no.43 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars), Bar Blanc, and Pony Up for one Sunday night takeover. With skyline views and a cocktail showdown made with Torres Brandy and Altos Tequila, this is your ultimate pre-game before the big show in Macau. Cocktails start at HKD120.

Artesian Jakarta at Alibi

The Langham Jakarta’s Artesian Bar heads to Hong Kong for one night shift at Alibi. Bartenders Sufian Mahmoud and Gedalya Rianto will be behind the stick. Guests can expect signature cocktails from one of Jakarta’s best. This isn’t something you’d want to miss.

Campari Hospitality at The Opposites

Part of the 2025 Asia’s 50 Best Bars festivities, The Opposites (ranked no. 80 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars extended list) is hosting a pre-awards gathering that brings together bartenders from Jakarta’s Cosmo Pony and Singapore’s Atlas (ranked no. 43 at World’s 50 Best Bars 2024) for an afternoon of cocktails, bites, and community. Behind the bar are Cosmo Pony’s Silvio Daniele and Marsya Soemantri and Atlas’ Nicholas Alexander and Sylvia Chong. Expect Campari-based drinks, tasty snacks, and a solid Sunday fun with industry friends before the big night.

Cocktail Club Night at The Diplomat

Singapore’s O.G. cocktail club, Bae’s Cocktail Club, is flying in for one night at The Diplomat in Central. The event will be a fun guest shift with bartenders Boo Jing Heng and Leona Lee, a live DJ, and an atmosphere that keeps going past midnight.

The Opposites’ First Anniversary Celebration
When: July 1–31
Where: The Opposites, Hong Kong

To mark its first year, The Opposites is throwing a month-long celebration with big names from Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei, and Hong Kong. The lineup includes a dessert pairing series from July 1 to13 with chefs Justin Lee (JL Dessert Bar, Seoul) and Fabio Bardi (formerly of Tozzo, HK); a one-night shift on July 16 featuring Hiroyasu Kayama of Bar BenFiddich (Tokyo) and Seven Yi of Le Room (Taipei); and a Tea vs Coffee series from July 21 to 31 in collaboration with tea expert Nana Chan (Plantation, HK) and coffee pros Jeremy Yeung and Jason Chan (EN Coffee, HK). Expect a new cocktail menu in August too.

Asia’s 50 Best Bars Kick-Off Party at Honky Tonks Tavern

Where: Honky Tonks Tavern
As Asia’s 50 Best Bars heads to Macau this year, Honky Tonks Tavern throws a pre-awards bash with back-to-back shifts from some of the region’s best.
Maria Escobia and YS Lai of Penrose in Kuala Lumpur kick things off, followed by Kazuhisa Arai of Sober Company in Shanghai. Rounding out the night are Chanel Adams of The Bamboo Bar and Emma Thompson of Tropic City, both from Bangkok. Drinks will start pouring at 5pm with DJ Sebastian dela Cruz on deck till late. Come early because it’s going to get packed.

Back-to-Back Guest Shifts at Barcode
When: July 12 (Saturday), July 13 (Sunday), and July 16 (Wednesday)

As Macaugets into full swing for Asia’s 50 Best Bars week, Hong Kong bars are also heating up the scene and Central’s cafe-cocktail bar, Barcode is lining up three back-to-back guest shifts. On July 12, Hideaway Bar from Goa brings laid-back energy and tropical cocktails from India’s coast. On July 13, Jakarta’s Hats Bar will take over with clean, trendy drinks. And on July 16, Bar Bud from Shanghai closes the series with fun, Korean-inspired cocktails. All shifts run from 8pm to 11pm.

Kinsman Guest Shifts During Asia’s 50 Best Bars Week
When: July 14 (Monday) and July 16 Wednesday

Where: Kinsman, Hong Kong
Kinsman joins the Asia’s 50 Best Bars festivities with two standout guest shifts. On July 14, it’s a Kansai Takeover with Lamp Bar (Nara) and Bee’s Knees (Kyoto) stepping behind the bar. Expect elegant Japanese-style cocktails from Michito Kaneko and a lively finish with Bee’s Knees’ signature speakeasy flair. On July 16, Stay Gold Flamingo from Singapore takes over, with Jerrod Khoo and Cyrus Wang bringing bold flavors and big energy to the Kinsman floor.

Baia Pops Up at Ella

Adonis E. Reyes, bar manager of Baia in Singapore, is heading to New Orleans–inspired live music bar Ella at The Trilogy, , for a one-night guest shift. Guests can surely enjoy signature pours from SG’s known rooftop bar paired with a relaxed jazz lounge setting.

Two Moons International Week: Station Two

Where: Twenty Fifth Hour (25:00)
Hiroyasu Ogura of Tokyo’s craft gin bar, The Hisaka takes over the hidden bar, 25:00. Ogura brings a slice of Takadanobaba to Hong Kong with a menu inspired by his 200-strong collection back home. Catch this rare shift as part of Two Moons Distillery’s’ International Week.

Disco Leone at Bar Leone

It’s the return of Disco Leone, this time on its home turf. Milan’s Moebius (No. 38 in the World’s 50 Best Bars 2024 list) and Florence’s Locale Firenze (No. 36) join Bar Leone (No. 1 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024) for a late-afternoon party. Guests will surely enjoy Campari-led drinks, and disco beats.

Artesian x Terrible Baby

Giulia Cuccurullo, head bartender of The Langham London’s popular bar, Artesian,, is landing at Jordan’s hip bar, Terrible Baby, for a one-night-only guest shift. As the first woman to lead Artesian, Cuccurullo brings her signature style and globally acclaimed cocktails to Hong Kong as part of this year’s Asia’s 50 Best Bars week celebrations.

Guests can enjoy signature cocktails from BRB alongside Goa Nights’ new menu.

Adventures in the Cavern

Long Bar will gather eight of Korea’s top mixologists for one night spotlighting four Seoul venues on Asia’s 50 Best Bars list. Expect Korean spirits and local flavors from Bar Cham (No. 20) with Byungjin Lim and Yeonghwi Yun, signatures from Alice (No. 46) by Terry Kim and Mason Park, classics from Le Chamber (No. 48) led by Jae-jin Lim and Louis Eom, and sustainable-forward cocktails from Pine & Co (No. 50) by Duui Hong and Beomsuk Park. It’s Seoul’s cocktail scene in one room, better not to miss it!

Aperitivo Canto at Wing Lei Bar

Aperitivo Canto lands at Wing Lei Bar in Macau for an all-day Italian-inspired takeover during Asia’s 50 Best Bars week. Backed by Campari, the afternoon features signature serves from a powerhouse lineup of guest bartenders across Asia and Europe.
Mar Dongi (Bar Sathorn, Bangkok), Filippo Sanchi (Bar S-Otto, Shanghai), Wing Lo (Bar Leone, Hong Kong), Lorenzo Querci and Giovanni Allario (Moebius, Milan), Jay Gray (Idle Hands, Singapore), and Matteo Cadeddu (Opium Bar, Bangkok). Jay Khan and Brian Chan from Hong Kong’s Coa (ranked No. 4 at Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024) are taking over the bar at The Modern Haus. There will be agave-based drinks that reflect why Coa remains one of the most influential names in the region. You will surely not want to miss this night.

Friends of Manhattan: Long Bar, Shanghai

As part of the Friends of Manhattan series, for one night only, Manhattan in Singapore is teaming up with Long Bar from the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai. Bar manager Vincent Han brings a menu of signature cocktails that reflect the spirit of one of Shanghai’s most iconic hotel bars.
